Principality Building Society has signed up as Get Safe Online's latest Partner. Principality is the first building society and the first Welsh company to partner with our organisation.
It joins other Partners to help raise awareness of important online safety issues and protect consumers and businesses from the potential online threats of today’s digital age.
As Wales’ largest building Society, Principality has over £7bn assets and is the sixth-largest building society in the UK.
Founded as a mutual in 1860 and still fiercely proud of its mutual status, Principality prides itself on providing excellent customer service and its core principles of providing a home for Members’ money and helping people into homes.
Principality and Get Safe Online have joined forces on the back of our mutual passion to raise awareness around online safety. Together we hope to be able to protect Principality's Members and the general public’s digital footprint, whether they are banking, shopping, social networking or simply just browsing the internet.
Rhodri Evans, the Society's Head of Group Information Security, said: “Our customers’ needs are changing with more and more people now going online to conduct their business with us and other organisations. Whilst we have rigorous safety checks in place for when they want to transact with us, there are sadly a range of threats online, so we want to equip our Members and customers with all the tools they need to be protected while using the internet.
Rhodri concluded: “Partnering with Get Safe Online is a great route to help our customers stay safe.”
The partnership means that Principality Members, savers, borrowers and colleagues will be able to take advantage of a range of online tips, resources and tools to help protect them for online threats whilst they are on the internet.
Tony Neate, Get Safe Online CEO, said: “The internet is a wonderful place where people can do so much – from shopping, to socialising with each other, and of course managing their finances. Keeping internet users safe is a huge task and we would not have the same success in raising awareness without our Partners. We are delighted to welcome Principality on board to support our efforts and lend its expertise to help meet our goals.”
