With just five days to go until Christmas, you still have time to buy those last-minute gifts and festive essentials online. After all, the internet retailers are geared up to process your order and despatch your goodies at this – the busiest time of the year. And, do you really want to trudge round the shops in the Christmas crush?
More people then ever before are doing their Christmas shopping online this year, but unfortunately more are being caught out by fraudsters … something they could avoid by taking a step back before they hit the payment button.
We have seen a huge amount of good advice on shopping online safely on many websites this year and most of it says more or less the same thing, but may be expressed slightly differently. We have put togther our own set of ten top Christmas shopping tips, with the help of our partners at Barclays, Kaspersky Lab, City of London Police and Action Fraud.
Whilst on the subject of Christmas, there are other things you may do at this time of year where you need to take care too, such as more social networking or Skyping, giving or receiving smartphones or tablets or booking a last minute or new year break. You can find ample free, practical advice on these and more, by clicking here.
So please follow our advice (or any other safety advice you know is from a trusted source) and have a very merry Christmas, from everyone at Get Safe Online.
